The duo, Stratos Morianos (keyboards) and Alexandros Mantas (guitars, flute) formed in 2012. Their first full album, \u003ci\u003eIntrospection\u003c\/i\u003e (2018), was well received by progressive rock fans worldwide. It was an album cinematic in nature, coupled with elements from Greek music, 70s progressive rock and electronic music. After a five-year absence from the music scene, Residuos Mentales signed with OOB Records with their second full length album.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNoSpacing\"\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003cspan style=\"mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;\"\u003eA Temporary State of Bliss\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan style=\"mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;\"\u003e has a penchant for the traditional progressive rock like Camel, King Crimson, and Genesis. But, this time, the duo has added many other elements (ranging from progressive to metal to funk) to keep their interest intact and the music fresh. In true old-school prog rock fashion, the tracks push the boundaries of time and space. The four compositions, make up forty-four minutes of music. It tells the story of a man who is tortured by memories of the past. The inner voices are let loose, and the rainy day exacerbates the gloominess. The character spins a vinyl, and old, nagging recollections resurface. Finally, the character is sucked by a whirlpool, recounting their life. The optimistic prospect, the feeling like “coming home,” is gradually replaced by vague, forgotten, yet ever-present memories of loss and disappointment that get clearer and clearer in their head. Recounting these stories brings our character to their limit, who makes a promise to set everything right but “you can’t escape the past, no matter how much you want to,” and the mental residuals in their head prevent them from keeping their promise.
