Something ELSE - Hope (CD)
A very strong debut by the Canadian band Something ELSE. Though they started playing together in the late eighties, the original line up broke up by 1990. It wasn’t until 2014 that they found their way back together again. It has taken a long time for this album to come together, which is part of its strength.
The band members have a passion for Marillion and, if you have been to a Marillion Weekend in Montreal, you might have seen them perform as Childhood Friends paying tribute to the Fish era of Marillion. In addition, the bands’ front man and lead singer Michel Renaud is the singer in Canadian prog band Red Sand.
The album was recorded and mixed by Jeff Grenier at Studio Monocube in Quebec and mastered by Andy VanDette at the Engine Room in New York.
