Fractal Mirror

Fractal Mirror is an international recording band. Leo Koperdraat (keys/vocals/guitars) and Ed van Haagen (bass/keys) have made music together since the 80’s in the Netherlands in a band influenced by the likes of Twelfth Night, Pendragon, Marillion and, surprisingly, Canadians Terraced Garden. They met Frank Urbaniak (drums/lyrics/images) online on the Big Big Train Facebook site. They compose and record their music via transatlantic data exchanges. While Ed visited the US during the mixing of several of the albums, Leo and Frank have never formally met. The band chose the name as a reflection of their passion for a wide variety of music that bridges various ‘genres’.

Their first album, Strange Attractors, was already written when Frank joined. The band began their ongoing collaboration with Brett Kull (engineering, production, background vocals and occasional guitars and keys) on the next album Garden of Ghosts. Frank also assumed most of the lyric writing from that point for the next four albums. Brett Kull (Echolyn) is also involved with the band's musical production. Gareth Cole (The Bardic Depths, Tiger Moth Tales) joined the band with their latest album, Beyond Borders.

The band is currently largely inactive but is releasing material under the name Mirror Image and Leo under the name The Imperfectionist.
