Fractal Mirror - Strange Attractors (CD)

The first album from Fractal Mirror created a bit of a buzz and discussion on whether the music was progressive or art rock. The lyrics are quite dark, charting the thinking of a serial killer but the album clearly displays the sonic roots and heavy emphasis on the mellotron that continued over the next few albums.

The Progressive Aspect: “Fractal Mirror have made a strong opening statement with this album. The fine combination of upbeat, crafted pop rock songs is nicely offset by the darker, melancholic and sombre pieces of music. An album to return to.”

Brad Birzer, Progarchy: “I can, however, state unequivocally, that Strange Attractors is gorgeous, stunning, moody, intense, brooding, uplifting, punctuated, driving, subtle, sustained, lush, flowing, inspiring. One might call it New Wave/prog or alt rock/prog.”
