A King On Every Corner, a 10-track album from Dutch alternative progressive rock band My Own Army, is their 5th album. The lyrical message of the album is powerful, reminding the listener that there is a king on every corner trying to influence his followers, and if you don’t walk your own path, then it will be a dead-end street. You risk losing control over things that you’ve taken for granted in life. My Own Army have softened their grunge rock sound on this album by adding more progressive rock power riffs and swaying time signatures, fortified with electric sparks.

With over a decade of creating music together, My Own Army, are venerable veterans of the Dutch rock scene. Inspired by bands such as A Perfect Circle, Alice in Chains, Tool, and Oceansize, My Own Army is a band that continually looks to surpass their boundaries both musically and lyrically. The band gives an energetic and dynamic live performance, mixing a bombastic bass-and-drums-driven rock sound with melodic and atmospheric vocals, electronic beats and wailing lead guitars.
