John Mitchell
John Mitchell is an Irish singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer known primarily for his work in the progressive rock genre. He been a member of several bands, including the John Wetton band, It Bites, Arena, Frost*, Kino, and Asia, as well as his solo project, Lonely Robot.
Mitchell’s career was inspired Eric Clapton's performance of Miss You at a Prince’s Trust concert, which led him to switch from violin to guitar. He primary guitar influrnces have been Jeff Beck, Trevor Rabin, and David Gilmour.
He is a record producer and sound engineer at Outhouse Studios in Reading, UK, where he has worked with artists such as Enter Shikari, You Me at Six, Lower Than Atlantis, Architects, Funeral for a Friend, and Steven Wilson He is also co-founder of White Star Records, an independent progressive rock label.
Mitchell’s career spans decades, blending live performance, studio production, and a deep connection to the progressive rock community, making him a respected figure in the genre.
