Ton Scherpenzeel

Ton Scherpenzeel is best known for his 48-year career as composer, lyricist, keyboardist and a founding member of the world-renowned prog rock band, Kayak. He is also known for his years as keyboardist for prog rock band Camel (UK) and Earth and Fire (NL). In addition to his band and extensive solo career, Ton is known as an avid composer and musician in the theater and film scene as composer and producer of multiple musical productions, including over fifty musical scores for the national youth theatre. In 1980, he wrote the score for the Dutch movie Spetters, featuring Rutger Hauer. He was also composer for forty years for most of the songs of Dutch entertainer, Youp van‘t Hek.
