Argus
Argus is a progressive rock band from the Netherlands that first hit the scene in 2010, although the roots of the band have a much deeper history.
Dutch musician, Wim Wassenberg, and his friend Ton emerged from amidst the vibrant soundscape of a local youth club in the 1970s as a dynamic duo. Amidst the ebb and flow of life’s complexities, and a very long hiatus, they resolved to reignite their musical journey, and the duo embarked on a quest to assemble a band. Longtime ally, Ed de Groot swiftly joined their ranks as bassist, followed by keyboard virtuoso and vocalist Frans Nooijen, both eager to breathe life into the project.
With unwavering determination, they honed their craft, eschewing cover tunes in favor of original compositions that showcased their collective artistry. Yet, the band’s journey was not without its twists and turns. Fast forward to 2024, Argus stands as a testament to resilience and musical innovation, with Wim Wassenberg, Naud Debeen, Ed de Groot, Frans Nooijen, Renier van de Kerkhof, and Marijn Schellekens united in their collective pursuit of Argus.
