Realisea

Realisea started back in 2011 as an alternative symphonic rock project with folky influences, formed around Brian de Graeve, frontman and founder of Dutch neo-prog band Silhouette.

Along with singer Marjolein, he wrote a series of highly melodic, sometimes folky, progressive rock songs which they’ve recorded over the years as they invited many friends and guest musicians along the way. Their first album featured artists like Michel st-Père (Mystery, Huis), Erik Laan (Silhouette, Chain Reaktor), Simon Rogers (Also Eden), Aldo Adema (Egdon Heath), Sophie Zaaijer (Cesair, Sunfire), Jean Pageau (Mystery) and Bart Laan (SkyLake, Chain Reaktor). Christophe Rapenne joined the “project” at that time playing the loins share of the keyboards.

Their long-awaited debut album Mantelpeace appeared in April 2020 and was received with great enthusiasm by both national and international music press. During their concerts in 2020, Realisea was joined by Rindert Bul (Novatia) and Mark op ten Berg (Chain Reaktor) several times. This was so successful that they decided to join Realisea permanently. In 2021, Jos Uffing, former drummer and vocalist of Silhouette also joined the band. In this setting, they worked on the follow-up to Mantelpeace.

In October 2022, their second album Fairly Carefree was released. This album showcased new melodic and progressive rock anthems with Pink Floyd-worthy guitar solos, dreamy keyboard textures and dark(er) song-based writing. This album also features a guest appearance of Ton Scherpenzeel (Kayak).

By 2023, the line-up was strengthened by bass guitarist Patrick Verheij. He replaced Geoffrey de Graeve, who played at most of the gigs of the Fairly Carefree tour. The band has now grown into a steady group of six musicians, but would soon after grow to seven masters of music by taking guitar schredder Jos de Jong into their midst.

In 2026, Realisea will be releasing their third album titled Scratch. The band will follow up on this release with a tour around the globe.
