Galasphere 347 - The Syntax of Things (CD)

Galasphere 347’s sophomore album The Syntax of Things expands on the band’s debut, bringing in other musicians with their own skills and styles. Shorter, more focused songs still allow the band to play out. We hope you enjoy Bjørn’s superb electric guitar on Broken Bones and The Syntax of Things, John Jowett’s excellent bass playing throughout and Myke Clifford’s wild saxophones on Broken Bones. Of course, Mattias is superb throughout, Ketil’s flute solo on Life as an Architect is out of this world, while Stephen’s analog keyboards, with his signature ARP Odyssey solo sound to the fore and plenty of real mellotron, 6 and 12 string guitars, lap steel and Gizmotron, complete the band.

The songs are about longing, nostalgia and the sense of loss we often feel at times in our lives and the choices we make – but Björn’s solo at the end of the album is uplifting and suggests the possibility of a better future. A kind of progressive rock À la recherche du temps perdu.

Galasphere 347 are:

  • Stephen James Bennett - vocals, keyboards, guitars, eBow, Gizmotron, lap steel, Moog Taurus and bits and bobs
  • Ketil Vestrum Einarsen - flute, keyboards and programming

  • Bjørn Riis - Electric Guitars (3,6,7)
