The Demonstration Tapes

The Demonstration Tapes consists of seasoned musicians with their feet planted firmly in music history. Lars, Pedro, and Fredrik of The Demonstration Tapes previously played together in the band Sister Sonny.

They grew up in an era where American culture—music, film, literature—served as a guiding light. Throughout their lives, their relationship with the US has been marked by friction, yet equally driven by respect, curiosity, and love.

A few years ago, they realized that they were each writing songs centered around American states. That sparked the idea to write and release one song for every U.S. state. With the upcoming anniversary of American independence just a few years off, they had a plan. The debut album First Amendment was released in 2025, featuring songs about Texas, New York, Oklahoma, and more—14 tracks covering 14 states. Now, in the 2026 anniversary year, comes the next installment. After warming up through the summer with the singles The New Jersey Turnpike, Clean Cut Connecticut, and New Mexico Loosin', the album Second Amendment drops on September 25th.
