Once upon a time, Michael Dunn was a “long haired git” playing guitar in the Vancouver bar scene. A shift into the world of recording studios as a trainee engineer at Vancouver’s famed Mushroom Studios introduced him to many of Canada’s top recording artists of the day. Highlights included working on sessions with a certain Ringo Starr and the demo tapes for Bryan Adams. It took 40 years to ‘get around to it’ but, in 2023, he finally recorded the album he had been promising himself to do “some day”. (Can you relate?)
“Not having a band, I took a page from the Alan Parsons Project and assembled a team of players based on who I thought would be best for a given part. Watching the songs come alive with the amazing musicians I was blessed to work with was an absolutely magical experience!”
Special guests include Amanda Lehmann (Steve Hackett Band), Andy Tillison (The Tangent), and Joe Deninzon (Kansas, Stratospheerius).
Stylistically, Bridge Across the Years has been described as containing an intriguing blend of both progressive rock and hard rock elements.
