Svein Hovland is a true legend from the local scene in Bergen, through bands such as Gjennomslag, Blind Date, and many more. About his new brainchild Toy Weather, Hovland explains his primary influences: "To me, Van der Graaf Generator is a big influence - they were one of the most successful groups to achieve the blending of aggressive and mellow rock, psychedelic and experimental music, opera and classical elements, English queerness, sci-fi and pop. Toy Weather is also influenced by more accessible acts such as David Bowie, David Sylvian, XTC and many more.
Toy Weather's sophomore album is a gem for music lovers. Originally released only digitally in January 2025, the demand for a physical release was overwhelming and so here it is.
