Molesome

Born in Hong Kong to Swedish parents, Mattias Olsson moved to Sweden when he was six and took up drumming at the age of eight. He started playing in big bands, pop, and classical ensembles until, at the age of 17, he joined progressive rock band Anglagard.

Anglagard went on to record two studio albums in the early nineties, as well as a live album (named Buried Alive, a joke by Mattias coming up with the worst live album title he could think of) before they decided to part ways. They reunited again in 2011 and released a third studio album in 2012.

After Anglagard, he joined Swedish pop rock band Pineforest Crunch, who went on to record three albums before they broke up. Since then, he has been recording with multiple artists, in addition to opening his own recording studio, where he has recorded and produced numerous different projects. Some of the latest bands he has been involved with, all of which have toured in the USA, are Necromonkey, Pixie Ninja, Doskalle and The Devil’s Staircase. In recent years, he has begun recording solo material under the name Molesome.

The creative output from Mattias Olsson is beyond what is seen from most artists, both in quantity and variety. He is incredibly prolific - constantly creating either under his own name or for various bands with whom he is involved – putting many of his creative moments on Instagram. If you’d like a view into the way his mind (and music) work, check him out at “rothhandle”.  When you listen to all things Mattias, what you quickly notice is that no two things are the same. He is constantly evolving and, if you ever meet him, you will notice he is constantly thinking about new creations. Give him a listen. Put on your headphones and let him take you on a journey. But, be careful, because once he reels you in and you are hooked, it is hard to give him up again.
