Rikard Sjoblom

Rikard Sjöblom is a Swedish singer and multi-instrumentalist, best known as a member Beardfish, Big Big Train, and Gungfly. He has also recorded as a solo artist, as half of River Talks, and been involved with recordings by The Tangent and Dyble Longdon. In 2026, he was ranked as the 4th greatest progressive rock singer of all time by Loudwire Magazine.

Sjöblom started playing accordion at age 6, guitar at age 10, and a Hammond organ at age 17. After buying the Hammond organ, he formed a duo with drummer Petter Diamant called Bootcut that released Hammond vs Drums (2002) and De Fluff (2005). He formed Beardfish 2001.

Sjöblom was recruited by Big Big Train in 2014 as a touring guitarist and keyboardist, as the band was considering the possibility of live performances.  He became a permanent member, appearing on all of their releases since 2015.

Gungfly is Sjoblom's pseudonym for his solo work. He releases studio recordings and performs live under this and his own name.
